On subcommunications in youth social networks

Abstract

The article raises the question of the formation of subcommunications in youth social networks Ask.ru, Saywordme and Grustnogram. The formation of subcommunications in the process of interaction between members of this social group is reported to be one of the keyways to resist media influence and media satiation. We emphasize that the formation of social network subcommunications (and their volume) is determined by the specifics of the social network discourse of every platform. In addition, users satisfy different needs while interacting in social networkss and it also influences the formation of subcommunications. They satisfy such needs as the need to communicate with people that have similar interests, the need for self-identification, self-expression and creativity. Such subcommunications form at several levels: discursive, media topical, lexical and semiotic levels. All these levels are interconnected and cannot exist in isolation from each other.
