Abstract

The news media text operating in the social network is undergoing a change: an additional element appears in its structure ‒ a lead (a text element posted on the official media page on the social network in the preposition to the news message). The lead as a structural element of a news media text has not yet become the object of study.

The purpose of the work is to identify the frequency types of leads to the news media text in the VKontakte social network. The research materials are publications in more than 40 communities of mass media and information agencies in the social network VKontakte.

Based on the correlation of the semantics of the lead with the news text proposition (T. A. van Dijk), the main ten types of leads have been identified. Each type is given a structural and semantic characteristic. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that in the social network lead is becoming a "strong position" of the media text, performing the functions of a headline.

Keywords: news media text, media, lead, social networks.
