Abstract

In this article, dynamics of motivation factors of television content consumption among Russians is presented. This dynamics was derived from analysis of the results of monitoring social survey (considered time period is from 2000 to 2017). Processes of transformation of goals and motivations of television content usage, of needs and expectations of the television audience while watching television programs, of conceptions about functions of television from the beginning of 2000-ths to the present time (2017) are shown. Correlation between motivational and functional aspects of television content consumption and socio-political agenda, television broadcast content, development of digital informational and communications technology is analysed. It was found that the most essential transformations of attitude towards television happened among two categories of viewers: young people (age 15 to 24) and senior people (age 55 and above).
